A Bit About Me
Hi, I’m Serene—yes, like the word. And while I don’t always feel serene at 5 a.m. call times, I do try to pretend convincingly.

I’m an award-winning producer and director with 20+ years of chasing stories —sometimes sprinting after them, sometimes gently coaxing them, sometimes bribing them with coffee. People I’ve worked with say I’m usually three steps ahead, the calm in the storm, and once—memorably—“a 24-hour mall with no lines.” I choose to hear the compliment in that.
My love for storytelling started early, watching crime melodramas with my mom, and trying to crack the case before the third act. That living room detective work turned out to be my unofficial film school… which I later doubled down on with a criminal justice degree, because apparently I take my plot twists very seriously.

I’ve worked across commercials, short films, scripted and unscripted television, theatre, and branded content. My projects have screened at Cannes and Venice Film Festivals, won a Bronze Clio, and earned a Webby nomination courtesy of Apple and some very fancy phone footage.

As a director, I’m drawn to the tiny human moments—the looks, the pauses, the truths tucked between lines. As a producer, I balance creativity, logistics, and budget with the same intensity some people reserve for championship games. Wearing many hats over the years has taught me how the whole machine works, which makes collaboration not just smoother, but genuinely fun.

At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: stories connect us. They remind us we’re all figuring it out—stumbling, learning, occasionally nailing it—together. Whether it’s a sunrise commercial shoot or sorting out how to tell a small story that deserves a big moment, the magic always comes from the people.

As a storyteller, I value collaboration, humor, honesty, and getting the job done…without losing the joy in the process. Come. Let’s play.

Cheers,
sb
